Digital art can be purely computer-generated or taken from other sources, such as a photograph or an image drawn. Artworks are considered digital paintings when created similarly to non-digital paintings but using software and digitally outputting the resulting image as painted on canvas.
Digital Art is not to be confused with Artificial Intelligence. While both AI art and digital art involve technology, AI art is done through machine learning algorithms that are trained to recognize patterns, colours, and shapes. It is created by algorithms and not by human hands. Digital Art is usually based on a photograph or a drawing, and then several layers and colours are digitally added in a creative process to enhance it.
