CAli*MA Art Gallery • Rewan Bahaa El-Din (Egypt)
Rewan Bahaa El-Din is an Egyptian visual artist based in Alexandria. Although she is skilled in acrylic, oil and watercolour painting, she found her true artistic voice in mosaic art — a medium that allows her to express her deep passion, intense emotions and human experiences, to delve into deeper emotional layers through texture, colour and form and thus to reach the viewer’s senses.
"Feeling expresses a moment I went through — a feeling of being lost in darkness, trying to find my way to light. It’s about the feeling of being disconnected from everything around you, like you’re stuck in a space of confusion. But every struggle has an end, and that end is always light.
I wanted to show this idea by creating a piece that, while it speaks of struggle, also offers beauty and comfort. The colour blue represents this sense of feeling lost, but it also hints at the possibility of finding peace and clarity." - Rewan Bahaa El-Din
