Layla Hosny is an Egyptian visual artist and photographer with a particular interest in painting and photography as forms of personal expression. Her artistic practice explores the way she experiences the world around her, with a focus on emotions, personal perspectives, and the beauty found in both meaningful and seemingly ordinary moments.

"For me, painting is an escape and a passage from the external world around me into a world of my own. When I paint, I lose track of time and enter a different space where I can express what I feel, what I see, and what resonates with me. I do not simply paint what my eyes see; I try to capture how I experience it from my own perspective, giving it a form and language that feel personal to me.
I am also drawn to photography as a way of preserving the beauty I encounter in everyday life. I often photograph things that catch my attention even when I did not set out to take photographs. Many of these moments may seem ordinary or unnoticed by others, yet I find beauty in small details and fleeting scenes. When something is beautiful enough that I do not want to take my eyes away from it, I want to preserve that feeling and keep it with me through an image." — Layla Hosny
