Egyptian artist Gehad Ahmad was born in Damietta. She has been passionate about fine arts and handicrafts since childhood. Later, Gehad studied fine arts in Cairo. Living on the university campus was a key factor in shaping her artistic personality as she gained a wealth of experience from colleagues in the faculties of applied arts, art education, and music education.

From 1998, Gehad worked at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Luxor. She travelled from the far north of Egypt, where the Mediterranean Sea borders, to the far south of Egypt, home to the great Pharaonic civilisation, passing through many of Egypt's governorates. From 2003, she lived in Kuwait, which also had a significant impact on her experience and artistic skills, and came back to Luxor in 2020.

Gehad's family is an artistic family. Her husband is a visual artist, one of her daughters is a graduate of applied arts, and one of her two middle daughters studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts.
